TEMPORARY New Zealand VISAS
Work visa; If you are offered a job that cannot be filled by a New Zealander and the New Zealand employer is willing to "sponsor" you, then it may be able to apply for a work visa. The visa is issued for the duration of the employment contract or 4 years, whichever comes first (Important note: Most New Zealand employers have an aversion to sponsoring overseas candidates and generally will not consider an applicant unless ALREADY in possession of New Zealand residence visas. So unless you are to be transferred to Australia by your current employer, this can be a very difficult visa to obtain).

Student visa: If you are enrolled into a qualifying course at an New Zealand tertiary institution, you can apply for a student visa, allowing you to study and to work 15 hours per week.
